Hi Everyone!
I am quickly learning many things about my new role at Pilot Butte School. I will try to update this blog regularily so students, parents and staff can be kept up to date. Here is what is happening so far in my classes:
K-4 Computers: Practicing logging in, internet procedures, get to know you activities
5-8 Computers: Getting to know you assignments using Web 2.0 tools
Grade 5 Social Studies: We are beginning our Heritage Unit
Grade 5 Science: We are beginning our Resources Unit
Grade 5 Health: We will be doing an action planning research assignment
Grade 7 Social Studies: Current Events Assignment
Grade 7/8 Health: Action Planning!
8 PAA: Beginning wildlife management

Grade 5-8 First Day Assignment
Since we only see each other once every 6 days, I want to do my best to get to know your names and to learn a bit more about you.
Please complete the following assignment (ALL 3 STEPS)
1) Choose ONE of the following three sites that you will use to complete an assignment about yourself:

http://prezentit.com/
It is up to you to navigate around the site and follow directions if you haven't used it before!
2) Include the following information on your glog/prezi/prezentit:
Your full name
One picture of yourself
At least three of these: your favorite band, favorite band favorite song, favorite movie, favorite TV show, favorite sports team, favorite food, favorite hobby....
A quote you live your life by
Three interesting facts about yourself
Three things you like about computers
Three things you dislike about computers
Your goal for computer class
Pay attention to colour and font choice, placing of text and pictures, spelling and grammar, completeness, slide transitions (if applicable)
3) When you are done, you should email me what you have done (directly or the link) at gillian.mcphail@pvsd.ca with the subject: Comp Ed Assignment 1
